2022 Out Shop Cancer is Almost Here!

Out Shop Cancer is a main store and marketplace shopping event and a signature Strides Campaign in Second Life in support of the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and research which started in 2018. The 2022 Out Shop Cancer event includes main store and marketplace shopping, a grid-wide hunt, an Out Shop Cancer Pop-up Market, and a special Bloggers for a Cure event. Along with the many shopping opportunities, there will be several special raffles during the month, including raffles for eBody Reborn bodies and a Prima Elite body. With more than 70 stores participating ranging from clothes to decor to cars to breedables, there is something for everyone. Sandie Slate, founder of Out Shop Cancer, shares “We are super excited for this year’s event. The response from designers this year has been tremendous and the amount of support for the event has exceeded expectations. With the inclusion of the Pop-Up Market and the Bloggers for a Cure event, this year’s event is jam-packed with shopping and much more.” The Out Shop Cancer event runs from October 1st to the 31st. Shoppers will be able to pick up a shopping hud inworld at the Out Shop Cancer office. Out Shop Cancer Pop-Up Market Now Open!

The Out Shop Cancer Pop-up Market is open from October 15 – 31, 2021, and is in conjunction with the 4th annual Out Shop Cancer shopping event featuring main stores and marketplace stores plus a grid-wide hunt in support of Making Strides and the American Cancer Society. Also, there are several raffles taking place at the Pop-Up Market with gift cards for participating Out Shop Cancer stores as well as a complete LumiPro system. The main store and marketplace event continues as well and shoppers can pick up the complete shopping guide with all of the 2021 Out Shop Cancer stores listed along with how to participate in the grid-wide hunt. Stride Right and Fight Back Against Cancer

Gemstone Arts is hosting the Stride Right Café which will include weekly dance parties during the month of October along with two levels of shopping. The Stride Right Campaign is an effort of Team Shadow and friends and is joining forces with Out Shop Cancer for the 2021 season. Dance parties will be held on Wednesdays from 4-6 pm slt. Welcome to Out Shop Cancer 2021

It’s time to break out your wallets and hit the grid and shop to make a difference at Out Shop Cancer. The 4th annual Out Shop Cancer event is now open with more than 70 participating stores both in-world and on Marketplace featuring items for men, women, children, animesh Zooby babies, plus home and garden, DFS items and more. New for this year there is a grid-wide hunt along with all of the shopping opportunities. Speaking with Savannah Annamemnon, event co-lead, “Yes, we are very excited about adding the hunt feature to the event. There are so many wonderful things designers have donated, it is definitely time to shop ’til you drop for a great cause.” Additionally, there will be special raffles throughout the month. LumiPro has donated two complete systems to be raffled. The first raffle runs October 1 – 15 and tickets can be purchased at the Out Shop Cancer office. While there you can also pick up the Shopping Directory notecard to plan your shopping excursion. Aside from in-world shopping, shoppers can visit the Second Life Marketplace and use the keywords “Out Shop Cancer” or “Making Strides” to find items on sale with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Looking forward to mid-month there will be a Pop-Up Market where many of the participating designers will set out their vendors. The Out Shop Cancer Pop-Up Market will run from October 15 – 31. All proceeds from this event go directly to the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and services. It’s important to note that your support is helping! Even though breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide, rates are down 40% in the U.S., meaning 375,900 lives saved from breast cancer. These decreases are believed to be the result of earlier detection through screening and increased awareness, as well as improved treatments.

These include a special ACS (American Cancer Society) Marketplace online shopping directory, an Out Shop Market for vendors to sell their Out Shop items, a $25L grid-wide hunt, as well as Super Sale items offered by merchants for 50-75L. Out Shop Cancer is a main store and marketplace shopping event and a signature Strides Campaign in Second Life in support of the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and research which started in 2018. Now in its fourth year, the event continues to grow. The goal remains the same – to raise funds for breast cancer research and support while driving traffic to merchant’s places of business. All proceeds from this event go directly to the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer programs and services. The Out Shop event will run from October 1st to the 31st and shoppers will be able to find a list a of merchants on the Out Shop website at https://www.outshopcancersecondlife.com/. They will also be able to find the shopping directory that lists all of the items for sale as well as the bloggers and information about pop-up events through this website. Merchants will be selling their Out Shop items in their stores across Second Life, on Second Life Marketplace, and at the Out Shop Market. Wythburn Art Walk

A new feature of the Out Shop Cancer event this year is the beautiful Wythburn Art Walk that runs October 1st through November 1st. The Art Walk showcases twenty-five Second Life artists who are donating proceeds from all of the pieces on display to Making Strides and the American Cancer Society. Starting at the Square visitors will find numerous art offerings lining the walks and paths all the way up to the Raven Craig Art Center. On Saturdays in October from 10am – noon, all are invited to attend the “Meet the Artists” event to learn what inspires their art, their techniques, their personal stories of how cancer has touched their lives and more. The Meet the Artists events are emceed by DJ Filo Tani who also provides the music and is one of the artists participating in the Art Walk as well. The requested attire is black tie formal. The beautiful setting of Wythburn at Thirlmere was created by Sethos Lionheart of Wythburn Fine Furniture, for people to explore, enjoy, and share. There are all manner of interactive things to find and do, places to sit and enjoy with friends or alone. All the areas were created with the original Wythburn in mind. The Wythburn Art Walk is managed by Star Finesmith (morningstar.finesmith) and she is happy to assist with finding your favorite artists at the Art Walk. Additionally, while visiting the Wythburn Art Walk, please take time to pick up your interactive Breastcancer Ninja statue provided by Harry Clover (ImpossibleIsNotFrench) and submit your selfie for the special contest he is sponsoring.
